Operator hire service: The spider lift or MEWP is normally supplied by the client or their chosen hire company. Equipment hire can be discussed separately where required.

Experienced Operators for Specialist Spider Lift Work

Spider lifts provide exceptional working height while remaining compact enough to pass through narrow access points. However, positioning, deploying and operating these machines correctly requires care, experience and an understanding of their particular controls and stability requirements.

IPAF Operator UK provides capable operators for tracked spider MEWPs used across construction, maintenance, cleaning, inspection, arboriculture and specialist access projects.

We confirm the exact machine, required IPAF category, site conditions and scope of work before providing a quotation.

Why Choose IPAF Operator UK?

Indoor and Sensitive-Surface Experience

Spider lifts are frequently selected for indoor work because of their compact dimensions and low ground pressure. Our operators understand the additional care required around finished floors, public areas and sensitive surroundings.

Tracked Machine Experience

Operators can be matched to tracked spider lifts and compact crawler booms from leading manufacturers, subject to the correct IPAF category and machine-specific familiarisation.

Restricted-Access Capability

Suitable for projects involving narrow entrances, confined access routes, courtyards, atriums and other locations that conventional boom lifts may struggle to reach.

Certified and Insured

Operators are supplied with current, relevant IPAF certification for the machine being used. Certification and booking requirements are checked before work begins.

Spider Lift and Tracked MEWP Work We Cover

We can provide operators for a broad range of tracked spider-lift and compact-access projects.

  • Tracked spider lifts and spider MEWPs
  • Compact crawler boom lifts
  • Indoor and outdoor projects
  • Restricted and narrow-access locations
  • Sensitive flooring and delicate environments
  • Uneven or difficult outdoor terrain
  • Short-term, one-day and multi-day projects
  • Machines supplied directly by clients
  • Machines delivered by access-hire companies

Spider lifts are available in many working heights, from compact low-level machines through to specialist high-reach equipment. Tell us the manufacturer, model and working height when enquiring so we can check operator suitability.

Experience may include machines such as Oil & Steel Octoplus, Hinowa, CMC, Teupen, Platform Basket and similar tracked access platforms. Operator allocation remains subject to the required IPAF category and machine-specific familiarisation.

The Correct IPAF Category for Your Spider Lift

Tracked spider lifts fitted with outriggers are commonly classified as IPAF 1b Static Boom machines. Other compact boom lifts may fall under a different category depending on how the machine is designed and operated.

We ask for the machine's make, model and required category before confirming an operator. This ensures that the operator supplied holds the appropriate certification for the actual equipment on site.

If you are unsure which category applies, send us the machine details or a photograph of its data plate and we can help check the booking requirements.

Note: Machine-specific familiarisation and the manufacturer's operating instructions remain essential even where the operator holds the relevant IPAF category.
