Cherry Picker Operator Hire UK
Experienced IPAF 3B operators for self-propelled articulated and telescopic boom lifts. Available for construction, industrial maintenance, utilities, inspections and specialist access work across the UK.
Operator-hire service: The cherry picker or mobile boom is normally supplied by the client or their chosen access-hire company.
Qualified Operators for Your Cherry Picker
IPAF Operator UK provides experienced operators for client-supplied cherry pickers and self-propelled mobile boom lifts. Whether the job involves an articulated boom for up-and-over access or a telescopic boom for extended horizontal reach, we can help arrange an appropriately qualified operator.
You arrange the suitable machine and site requirements. We provide the operator. Tell us the machine type, location, dates and complete scope of work and we'll provide a clear quotation based on the requirements of the job.
Before confirming a booking, we check the machine category, make and model, site requirements and operator availability.
You supply the cherry picker. We supply the qualified operator.

Articulated and Telescopic Boom Operators
Cherry pickers and mobile booms are available in different configurations for different access requirements. Providing the correct machine details helps us check the required IPAF category and operator suitability.
Articulated Boom Lifts
Operator cover for self-propelled booms designed to provide up-and-over access around buildings, structures, machinery and other obstacles.
Telescopic Boom Lifts
Operator cover for straight-boom machines used on open sites and projects requiring extended horizontal outreach and elevated access.
Rough-Terrain Booms
Operator cover for suitable diesel, hybrid and four-wheel-drive mobile booms used on construction, infrastructure and industrial sites.
Electric Boom Lifts
Operator cover for suitable low-emission mobile booms used in warehouses, commercial premises, facilities and other controlled environments.
Please provide the machine category, manufacturer and model when requesting a quotation. Operator allocation remains subject to the relevant IPAF qualification and machine-specific familiarisation.
Cherry Picker Work We Cover
Cherry pickers are used wherever safe elevated access is needed above, around or beyond an obstacle. Operator cover can be arranged for individual shifts, planned projects and longer-term requirements.

Mobile booms are used in a wide range of environments, each with different access, ground, coordination and site requirements. The details of the site and planned work are reviewed before operator cover is confirmed.

Checking the Machine and Operator Requirements
Self-propelled articulated and telescopic mobile booms are commonly covered by IPAF category 3B. However, "cherry picker" is a general term and some vehicle-mounted, trailer-mounted or static boom machines may require IPAF 1B or another relevant category.
We confirm the machine details before assigning an operator. If you are unsure, provide the manufacturer, model and a photograph of the machine or its data plate.
Harness and Restraint Requirements
For work from a boom-type MEWP, appropriate personal fall-protection equipment should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, site rules, RAMS and applicable guidance.
This will normally include a suitable full-body harness and short adjustable restraint lanyard attached to the designated anchor point. Confirm during the enquiry whether the client or operator is expected to provide the required equipment.
